Supplier Background Verification
Check that the company you are about to pay is a real, registered entity — and that names, addresses, contacts and bank details line up.
Every job is assessed first, then quoted.
Sound familiar?
You have found a supplier in China and are about to sign or pay a deposit, but you cannot tell from overseas whether the company is who it says it is.
What We Check / Do
- Legal registration: whether the entity appears in China’s public business registration records, with its registration number
- Entity name: exact registered Chinese name, and whether it matches the name on your quotation, contract and invoice
- Registered address and registered business scope
- Publicly available status (e.g. operating, deregistered, listed as abnormal) and public risk signals such as court enforcement or administrative penalty records
- Contact identity: whether the person you deal with can be linked to the company through channels we can check independently
- Payment beneficiary details supplied by you: whether the account holder name matches the contracting entity
- Inconsistencies between the website, documents and communications you received
- Open questions that should be answered before you pay
The exact scope is agreed with you in writing before we start.

Evidence You Receive
We don’t ask you to take our word for it. With this service you receive:
| Evidence | What it shows and how you can check it |
|---|---|
| Registry extract | A dated screenshot of the company’s public business registration record: registered name, registration number, status, address and business scope. We give you the registration number and the source, so you can look it up yourself. |
| Risk-record search results | Dated screenshots of the court-enforcement and administrative-penalty searches we ran, including any “no records found” results. |
| In-person record check (where applicable) | When a record has to be requested at a government office or registry counter, and the office accepts the request, we go in person. You get the printout or receipt the office issues, plus a dated photo of the visit where photos are allowed. Quoted separately. |
| Call notes | The date, time and number we dialed, who answered and what they said, in Chinese with an English summary. |
| Numbered document copies | Every document we checked (license image, invoice, contract, bank details), numbered and cross-referenced to the finding it supports. |
| Signed report | The report is signed and dated by the person who did the checks and by the person who reviewed them. |
Every finding in the report points to the evidence file behind it. If something cannot be backed up, it is marked “Not Verified” and we explain why. See our commitments.
Scope & Limitations
Every item in our report carries one of these statuses:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Independently Verified | We checked it ourselves against an independent source or by direct observation. The method, source, date and evidence number are recorded. |
| Supplier Stated | The supplier or partner told us or showed us this (including photos or documents they sent). We record it, but have not confirmed it independently. |
| Not Verified | We could not confirm it — no access, no reliable source, or conflicting information. We explain why. |
| Observed remotely | Seen through a live video call, not in person. Always labeled separately; never presented as an on-site visit. |
What this service cannot confirm or does not include
- Company registration does not establish manufacturing capability, financial soundness, product quality or trustworthiness.
- Any photos or documents provided by the supplier are labeled “Supplier Stated” and are not treated as independent proof.
- We use public records and direct contact. We do not access non-public databases, bank systems or personal data that is not lawfully available.
- Public records can be incomplete or delayed; “no record found” does not mean “no risk”.
